This free roundtable will provide an overview of post-conviction relief (PCR), including what it is and why it is an important part of the immigration toolbox. Additionally, it will identify cases where PCR may be appropriate, common PCR vehicles, and how to work with criminal defense counsel.

  • How to refer the case to PCR counsel
  • How to associate with criminal defense counsel if you decide to DIY
  • Understanding what it takes to be competent to directly represent a client in a PCR matter
  • Advocacy at the state and local level: legislation, and prosecutorial agency policy

This roundtable is presented by the AILA Federal Court Litigation Section.
