Eligible participants can receive up to 1.8 CLE credit hours. AILA will administer CLE credit only to individuals who register and log into the web seminar. AILA cannot verify your attendance and participation in this program unless you register directly for the web seminar and use your name to log in to participate in the program. Therefore, persons who log in or listen in on the web seminar as part of a group will not be able to obtain CLE credit.

Robin Dalton (DL), AILA VAWA, Us, and Ts Committee Chair, Madison, WI

Robin Dalton is the Director of Legal Services for End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin, where she has been a fierce advocate against sexual and domestic violence for over 15 years. Robin represents immigrant survivors primarily in U, T, and VAWA petitions. In addition to client representation, Robin provides training, mentorship and technical assistance for other attorneys, legal advocates, law enforcement and students. She serves currently as Chair of AILA’s National U/T/VAWA Committee and is an AILA Artesia Bulldog. Robin is also the past president of the Wisconsin Asian Bar Association and past Board of Governor for the State Bar of Wisconsin. Prior to her immigration work, Robin held internships at WI’s Innocence Project and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. Recently the YWCA, for her commitment and work within the immigrant and refugee community, honored her as a Woman of Distinction.

Cynthia Lucas, AILA VAWA, Us, and Ts Committee Vice Chair, Los Angeles, CA

Cynthia Lucas is a founding partner of Lucas & Barba LLP with offices in Los Angeles, CA and Portland, OR. She specializes in family-based and humanitarian-based immigration matters. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley & the University of San Francisco. She has served in various capacities in AILA including executive leadership at the local Chapter level, and at the national level as a member of the Board of Governors and she is currently Vice Chair of the National U/T/VAWA Committee.

Nicole M. Avila, AILA VAWA, Us, and Ts Committee, Orlando, FL

Nicole M. Avila Nicole is the Immigration and Pro Bono Supervising Attorney at Florida Legal Services where she works exclusively with survivors of crimes, particularly domestic violence and human trafficking. She has represented victims and survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and other crimes in immigration matters, assisting them with seeking relief under VAWA, U and T Visas. Nicole has also represented families seeking adjustment of status before USCIS, and clients in removal proceedings seeking asylum, cancellation of removal, and other relief. She is a member of the STRIPES Committee of the Broward Human Trafficking Coalition. She has frequently presented at CLEs and conferences speaking on various immigration topics, including visas and other relief for victims and survivors of human trafficking, current issues in immigration law and policy and immigration consequences of criminal conduct.

Emily Leung, Brockton, MA

Emily Leung is the supervising immigration attorney at the Justice Center of Southeast Massachusetts, a subsidiary of South Coastal Counties Legal Services, which provides civil legal aid to low-income individuals and families in Southeastern Massachusetts. She currently serves as the chair of the state legislative relations committee for the AILA New England Chapter. Emily received her JD and her MA in International Relations from Boston University.
