The new version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, has finally arrived, almost one year after the 2019 version expired last October. And—wait for it—the Form I-9 is back to one page. Our expert faculty will discuss the changes to the Form I-9, including the format of the form itself, as well as the recently announced option for employers to conduct virtual inspection of the identity and work authorization documents. They will also discuss NextGen E-Verify and the significant impact it will have on the employment verification process.

Featured Topics:

  • What is new on the Form I-9 (including possible pitfalls)?
  • Reverification of work authorization with the new form
  • The new virtual document inspection option
    • How does this relate to the end of COVID-19 flexibilities?
  • What is NextGen E-Verify?
  • Recent developments from agencies, such as the Immigrant and Employee Rights Section (IER) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), that affect the I-9 process
