She received her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center (1993) after graduating cum laude, from the University of Maryland, Smith School of Business as a Banneker Scholar. She is admitted to practice law in Maryland, the District of Columbia and a member of the bar of the US Supreme Court.
Michelle Saenz-Rodriguez, AILA Board of Governors, Dallas, TX
Michelle Saenz-Rodriguez is the co-founder of Saenz-Rodriguez & Associates in Dallas, Texas. Michelle was a Judicial Law Clerk under the Attorney General’s Honor program for Executive Office for Immigration Review in Harlingen, Texas. Michelle is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of Texas. She practices immigration law with an emphasis on removal litigation.
Michelle has been selected several times as a “Texas Super Lawyer” by Texas Monthly Magazine and has been named one the “Best Lawyers in America” in Immigration for over 20 years. She serves as a member of the AILA Board of Governors. She also serves as the Chair of the AILA Governance Committee. She is a member of IMMLAW which is a nationally recognized top-tier group of immigration lawyers.
Buxton Reed Bailey, Raleigh, NC
Buxton Reed Bailey is the president of Buxton R. Bailey, P.C. a solo practice in Raleigh, N.C. Bailey’s interest in immigration began in 1986 when he was hired by former Congressman E. (Kika) de la Garza from the 15th District of Texas to handle immigration, international and bilingual education matters. Over the past 10 years, Bailey has narrowed his practice to immigration, criminal and traffic defense. He is an active member of the ALA Carolina Chapter and has been interviewed on immigration issues by the media. Bailey is licensed in North Carolina, Maryland, and the District of Columbia (not presently a member), and he received his JD from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas in 1992. Bailey has an undergraduate degree in Spanish from Guilford College and is fluent in Spanish.
Nanya YM Thompson, San Diego, CA
Nanya Thompson is a solo practitioner with her own firm, Nanya Thompson Law, Inc. She is the current vice-chair of AILA San Diego Chapter and has served as the chair of the ICE OPLA liaison committee for AILA San Diego for the last two years. Ms. Thompson received her JD from the University of San Diego School of Law (2006).
