The last year has seen a great deal of upheaval in the context of prevailing wages, impacting both nonimmigrant and immigrant cases. Given the uncertainty of the past and DOL’s delay rather than withdrawal of the new final rule on prevailing wages, it is more important than ever for immigration practitioners to understand the benefits and challenges of using alternate wage surveys in support of those cases. Our panel of experts will provide an in-depth guide to the fundamentals of alternate wage surveys, then offer insight into when and how to use this tool.

Sonal J. Mehta Verma is a Founding Member of the Immigration Practice group at Nankin & Verma, PLLC, based in Rockville, MD, focusing her practice on business immigration matters. Ms. Verma has been a panelist at local, national, and international immigration conferences, and often lectures about immigration law to interested groups. A former Washington, DC Chapter chair, she has been chosen to serve AILA on various local and national committees for over 20 years.
Ashima Duggal, Mountain View, CA
Ashima Duggal has her own practice in Silicon Valley, CA. She has previously worked at two corporate immigration firms, the U.S. Department of Labor on the PERM program, and has consulted with the New York Immigration Coalition. She is currently the Chair for the AILA Santa Clara Valley Chapter. As a passion, Ashima has produced and directed documentary films that give voice to previously unheard narratives, and she has practiced Vipassana meditation since 2007.

Faye M. Kolly, Austin, TX
Faye M. Kolly is a Partner at DMCA.LLP and manager of its Business Immigration Practice Group. She was a member of the AILA FOIA committee (2020) and presenter at 2021 AILA Virtual Annual Conference. Ms. Kolly is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Saint Louis University School of Law.
Eligible participants can receive up to 1.8 CLE credit hours. AILA will administer CLE credit only to individuals who register and log into the web seminar. AILA cannot verify your attendance and participation in this program unless you register directly for the web seminar and use your name to log in to participate in the program. Therefore, persons who log in or listen in on the web seminar as part of a group will not be able to obtain CLE credit.
