EOIR has several related initiatives to take cases off docket and reduce the backlog. During this roundtable session, members of AILA’s EOIR Liaison Committee will discuss the recently announced “Off Docket” initiative as well as other strategies EOIR is using, some in coordination with ICE OPLA. AILA has been advocating for these types of initiatives, and this roundtable will provide a space for discussion among AILA members and AILA’s EOIR Liaison Committee as it continues to engage the agency on multiple fronts.
This roundtable is hosted by the AILA EOIR Liaison Committee, which coordinates with local EOIR liaisons to monitor issues, trends, and policies that relate to individuals in removal proceedings before the immigration courts and the BIA.
This roundtable is available only to AILA members and not CLE eligible. AILA University Video Roundtables are free learning opportunities for AILA members provided via a weekly schedule of live video programming for members to come together from across the country and world to discuss hot topics and network with colleagues in the field. Video Roundtables are part of AILA University programming and each session is hosted by faculty selected for their expertise.
