AILA University Video Roundtable Discussions are free learning opportunities for AILA members that feature a weekly schedule of live video programming for members to share and learn on a variety of topics. AILA University Video Roundtable Discussions are part of AILA University programming and each session is hosted by two AILA members selected for their expertise. Registration through Agora is limited, on a first come, first serve basis. Sessions take place via the Zoom conferencing platform.


Discussion Topics

These sessions are part of an on-going series which kicked off in June 2019, in which the BIRT Committee will offer quarterly conversations on business immigration issue for the AILA membership. Here is a broad overview of the concept: "Members of AILA's Business Immigration Response Team (BIRT) will address AILA members' most pressing business immigration questions. Past discussion topics from this teleconference session in June 2019 and October 2019 have included the following:

  • What tips can the discussion leaders provide regarding filing EB-2 to EB-3 downgrades?
  • Please comment on DOL's new prevailing wages and provide recent experiences/advice using private wage surveys.
  • How should I respond to a USCIS RFE that requests a Form I-944 that was not legally required at the time the adjustment of status was filed?
  • An O-1 visa holder stuck in London since the travel restrictions were imposed by PP 9996 has an urgent need to obtain a National Interest Exception. What are the O-1 visa holder's options?
