2019 AILA Central Florida Chapter Sports Immigration Law Conference - Webcast Recording
The 2019 Sports Immigration Law Conference, presented by the AILA Central Florida Chapter, took place on March 8, 2019, and is the nation’s first full-day immigration law conference dedicated exclusively to representing athletes, coaches and other sports industry professionals in their immigration matters (O's, P's, EB-1's, B-1's and more). The conference program features an all-star lineup of subject matter experts, including one of the founders of the sports immigration field, as well as experts in MLB visas and Olympic athletes. The panelists address strategic lawyering, including the specific issues faced by individual and team athletes; adjudication trends at USCIS, the AAO and consular posts; as well as post-denial options and litigation tactics in sports immigration appeals to the AAO and the federal courts. In addition, the program offers practical advice on marketing a law practice to athletes and how to integrate sports immigration services with the athlete's other professional advisors. The keynote speech at the inaugural Sports Immigration Law Conference is delivered by Canadian Olympic sprinter, Tremaine Harris.
