This roundtable, hosted by the Law Student Engagement Committee, is an introduction to the real practice of immigration law. The goal of the roundtable is to help new practitioners and law students decide which area of immigration law better suits them. We will compare the different aspects of practicing immigration law with an emphasis on what it is like practicing in each field--and how to succeed. This session will specifically focus on the similarities and differences between private practice and the nonprofit practice of immigration law.

AILA University Video Roundtables are free learning opportunities for AILA members provided via a weekly schedule of live video programming for members to come together from across the country and world to discuss hot topics and network with colleagues in the field. Video Roundtables are part of AILA University programming and each session is hosted by faculty selected for their expertise.
