Everyone makes mistakes, and USCIS is no exception. Sometimes a client is unaware of their ineligibility and intended no fraud or deceit, but USCIS did not notice the person was ineligible, and they were granted LPR status anyway. It is often years later before anyone notices the “accidental adjustment,” by which time the client may no longer qualify for the status in the present day. This is an issue that often comes up during naturalization. What can you do now? In this intermediate/advanced session, our experts will discuss the typical scenarios leading to these discoveries, as well as potential remedies available to the client.
Featured Topics
- What to Do When an LPR Suspects (or Knows) That Their Green Card Was Issued in Error
- What Are the Typical Circumstances That Lead to a Discovery of Wrongly-Granted LPR Status?
- When Can USCIS Commence Rescission Proceedings?
- When the Client Wants to Be Put into Removal Proceedings to Correct the Error: What Can Be Done Proactively to Get an NTA Issued?
- What Remedies Are Available If the Government Refuses to Put the Client in Proceedings?
