ABOUT THE EDITORS

Cletus M. Weber (Editor-in-Chief) is a co-founder of Peng & Weber, PLLC in Mercer Island, WA. He previously chaired the AILA Washington State Chapter and currently chairs AILA's Board of Publications, and serves on AILA's EB-5 Conference Committee. He is associate editor of Immigration Options for Investors & Entrepreneurs (AILA 2nd Ed. 2010) and Immigration Practice Pointers: Tips for Handling Complex Cases (AILA 2010-11 Ed.). He earned his BBA degree at the College of William and Mary in 1986 and his J.D. degree from the National Law Center at George Washington University in 1989, where he served as managing editor of The George Washington Law Review. He primarily represents investors, entrepreneurs, universities, clinics, researchers, physicians, and other professionals in all areas of business immigration law.


Cheryl Lenz-Calvo (Associate Editor) is a shareholder in the Chicago firm of Kempster, Keller & Lenz-Calvo, Ltd., where she practices exclusively in the area of immigration and nationality law. She was chair of the AILA Chicago Chapter from 1998-2000 and has served on both local and national Department of Labor liaison committees.


Elliott C. Lichtman (Associate Editor), a partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Lichtman & Elliot, PC, has practiced immigration law for more than 25 years. A graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School, he frequently writes and lectures on immigration law. Mr. Lichtman has long been an active member of AILA, serving on many of its national committees (including its Labor Department Liaison Committee). In addition to serving as associate editor of this book (and its predecessor-The David Stanton Manual on Labor Certification), he has published frequent articles in AILA publications and has often participated as a faculty member during national and local conferences and teleconferences.


Amy Novick (Associate Editor) is of counsel with The Haynes Immigration Law Firm in Washington, D.C., where she focuses her practice on obtaining visas for highly skilled professionals, waivers of the two-year home residency requirement for exchange visitors, and issues of concern to diplomats and international workers, investors, naturalization and citizenship, foreign adoptions, and family-based immigration matters. Ms. Novick also serves as a board member of Immigrants' List, the leading bipartisan, pro-immigration political action committee supporting pro-immigration candidates for Congress. A former deputy director of AILA, Ms. Novick is a frequent speaker on employment-based immigration and immigration policy and has extensive publication editing experience.


Danielle M. Rizzo (Associate Editor) is an associate attorney at the Law Offices of James D. Eiss and limits her practice to employment-based immigration law. Ms. Rizzo received her J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law. She has lectured and written extensively on business-related immigration topics. She is currently serving as vice chair of the AILA Upstate New York Chapter and as a member of AILA's 2011 Board of Publications.


Lilah S. Rosenblum (Associate Editor) practices immigration law with the Washington, D.C., law firm of Lichtman & Elliot, PC. Over the past decade, Ms. Rosenblum has worked to promote the rights of immigrants in the Washington, D.C., area in a range of contexts, including public health, education, employment law, and immigration.


Shannon N. Barnes (Contributing Editor) is an associate with Malitzlaw, Inc. in San Diego. Her practice focuses on business immigration law, including nonimmigrant visa benefits, as well as immigrant visa processes. Ms. Barnes has handled numerous PERM filings for nonprofit research and higher education institutions, as well as high-technology and biotechnology companies. Her PERM experience includes the basic PERM process, special handling for university professors, post-filing audits, and successful appellate requests at both the Department of Labor and Board of Alien Labor Certification Appeals levels.


Alexander Dgebuadze (Contributing Editor) is a founding partner of Sostrin Immigration Lawyers, LLP in Los Angeles. He focuses on business immigration law matters and represents health care, academic, automotive, investment banking, legal services, bioscience, and high-technology clients. He has served in several liaison capacities for the AILA Southern California Chapter (2009-11), and is currently serving on AILA's Business Immigration and Health Care Professionals/Physicians Committees. Mr. Dgebuadze has written on various immigration law topics, including consular procedures, EB-5 investor visas, H-1B cap exemptions, labor certifications, and extraordinary ability visas.


Jessica E. Robles (Contributing Editor) is an associate attorney at Peng & Weber, PLLC in Mercer Island, WA, where she practices primarily business immigration law, including PERM labor certifications and nonimmigrant matters, on behalf of universities, health care providers, and entities in aerospace, architecture, design, education, and high technology. She earned her B.A. degree magna cum laude in 1999 at Florida International University and her J.D. degree cum laude in 2003 at the University of Miami. She previously interned at the legacy Immigration and Naturalization Service's Office of the District Counsel in Miami.


Robert P. Webber (Contributing Editor) practices employment- and family-based immigration law in suburban Minneapolis with a team of two other attorneys and six other professionals. For the last 10+ years, he has been involved in a variety of AILA activities, locally and nationally, and is active on AILA's InfoNet Message Center. Mr. Webber is always interested in collaborating with peers on labor certification strategy questions.


Anthony ("Tony") Weigel (Contributing Editor) is the principal of Weigel Law Office, LLC in the Kansas City area and concentrates his practice in the areas of business immigration law and employer compliance with immigration laws. He has served as the chair and secretary of the Missouri/Kansas Chapter of AILA and as a member of the national Media & Advocacy Committee. He has successfully represented clients in employment- based sponsorship cases in the following industries: health care, information technology, education, engineering, telecommunications, research and defense. He has advised clients in a variety of industries, including construction, retail, service and manufacturing industries, on matters relating to immigration compliance, including compliance planning, records reviews, and administrative audits. He has also assisted employers subjected to criminal prosecutions. Prior to attending law school, he worked in human resources at a health care information technology company handling employment-related sponsorship and compliance matters.
