The landscape is changing rapidly with regard to DOMA. This panel will update attendees on the current state of the law under DOMA, including the Attorney General decision in Dorman, as well as Board of Immigration Appeals, district court, and circuit court decisions. Panelists will recommend steps to take to preserve the rights of LGBT clients before the immigration court. Additionally, panelists will discuss the current situation regarding affirmative applications, including the risks and benefits of filing at this time.
