Josie Gonzalez is the managing partner of Gonzalez & Harris in Pasadena, California and a graduate of U.C. Berkeley. She recently represented a major corporation facing federal criminal charges for hiring undocumented workers. She developed the company's immigration corporate compliance program that was described by the sentencing judge as an A+ program resulting in the client's receipt of a probationary sentence. She currently chairs the American Immigration Lawyer's Association Verification and Documentation Liaison Committee and is the editor of AILA's Worksite Enforcement Manual.

Kevin Lashus, Austin, TX

Kevin Lashus is a senior attorney with FosterQuan, LLP. in its Austin, Texas office; is Board Certified in Immigration and Nationality Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization; and, is a graduate of Stanford University & The University of Texas School of Law. He remains an adjunct professor at the University of Texas School of Law teaching a spring seminar on “Emerging Issues in National Security Law”. Mr. Lashus worked for the U.S. DOJ and then DHS for six years in San Francisco and Minneapolis/Saint Paul—advising special agents during national security investigations, criminal immigration prosecutions, & worksite enforcement actions.

Marketa Lindt, Chicago, IL

Marketa Lindt practices business immigration law at Sidley Austin LLP in Chicago. She advises employers on temporary and permanent visa processing, I-9 compliance, employer sanctions and immigration-related white collar defense. She is vice chair of AILA's Interior Enforcement Committee. She has served as chair of AILA's Chicago Chapter and has served on AILA's national liaison to the Department of Labor, Nebraska Service Center and Immigration and Customs Enforcement. She has received AILA's Joseph Minsky Award. Ms. Lindt frequently speaks and writes about business immigration practice issues.

Dawn M. Lurie, McLean, VA

Dawn Lurie is a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP advising companies on I-9 compliance and minimization of employers' exposure and liabilities. She develops immigration related compliance strategies, training programs and performs internal I-9 compliance reviews. She also defends businesses involved in government audits. Ms. Lurie also publishes and frequently lectures on I-9 issues including penalties for failure to act in accordance with government regulations, anti-discrimination laws and employers' responsibilities upon receiving social security no-match letters.
