E-2's in the Age of Austerity
AILA National and the Rome District Chapter (RDC) partner to bring you this podcast on E-2 visas. The discussion is lead by RDC members Janice Flynn and Charlotte Slocombe. Ms. Flynn begins with an overview of the E-2 visas and the application procedure. Ms. Slocombe gives guidance on strategies related to E visas: mainly, the difference between consular and USCIS filing and E versus L visas. The podcast concludes with questions posed to Bob Perls, Vice Consul and E Visa Specialist at the U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Perls answers questions about the effects of the economic downturn, the business plan, the investment threshold in the technology age, the personal interview, company affidavits attesting to shareholder breakdown and nationality, what can be included in the investment amount, dual national companies and changes in corporate structure.
