F-1 Students at Troubled Schools

This 90 minute audio seminar was recorded live on March 19, 2013, from 2:00 pm-3:30 pm eastern time.

This seminar will focus on how international students are affected when SEVP takes action against a school. The seminar will help you understand the rules of School Certification by SEVP, government authority in conducting investigations and enforcement actions against a school, and SEVP's process of withdrawing school certification. As this directly affects the immigration status of F-1 students, it is important to understand the regulatory requirements imposed on both schools and the government in order to devise the best possible strategies and courses of action for affected students.

  • Warning Signs that a School May Be in Trouble
  • Courses of Action for F-1 Students at Troubled Schools
  • F-1 Students in Removal Proceedings-Practice Pointers for Removal Defense Counsel
