Faculty Bios

John L. (Jack) Pinnix is a past national president of AILA and is a member of the founding board of the American Immigration Council (formerly AILF). He attained his J.D. from Wake Forest University. Mr. Pinnix has taught immigration law at the Elon University, North Carolina Central University, and Duke University Schools of Law. He is a North Carolina board certified immigration specialist and a principal in the Raleigh, North Carolina firm of Allen and Pinnix, PA.

Allen E. Kaye, whose practice is limited to immigration and naturalization law matters, has practiced U.S. immigration, naturalization, visa, and consular law for the past 35 years. He is a graduate of Columbia University Law School (J.D.) and New York University Law School (LL.M.). He is a past AILA president and board of governors member. Mr. Kaye is on the Executive Committee of the International Law Section of the New York State Bar Association. He is a regular columnist on immigration and naturalization law for many newspapers across the United States. He is a frequent lecturer on immigration issues for various organizations and foreign consulates.

Dale M. Schwartz is the author of various articles on immigration law and is a past president of AILA (1986-87), which awarded him the Jack Wasserman Memorial Award for Excellence in Litigation. He serves on the national boards of several organizations concerned with immigration and refugee matters, and has testified as an expert witness before committees of the U.S. Congress. He has been extensively honored for his contributions in the immigration law field and has been a frequent guest on national radio and TV programs (Nightline, 60 Minutes, CNN, etc.) He was lead counsel in the Marial Cuban Class Action in the federal courts. He is an Adjunct Professor at Emory Law School and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
