The Labor Condition Application, and the accompanying DOL regulations are earning more attention as DOL enforcement increases. This seminar will provide an overview of LCA regulations, and some of the common traps and pitfalls that practitioners and employers face in seeking to comply with DOL and USCIS regulations. The panel will discuss the trends in enforcement, recent OALJ decisions, and provide practitioners with tips on advising clients and ensuring compliance throughout the life of the LCA.

FacultyMaxine Lee (dl), Edison, NJ
Maxine Lee is the principal attorney at Maxine Lee, PLLC. She has been in the business immigration law practice since 1995. She received her J.D. (magna cum laude) from the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School and a B.A. (with honors) from Brown University. Ms. Lee received the 2007 AILA Presidential Award. She has served on various chapter committees, as treasurer of the AILA New Jersey Chapter, and on AILA's Board of Publications.

Allen Orr is the founder of Orr Immigration Law Firm PC, a minority-owned firm. He has received the Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award, is recognized in The International Who’s Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers, and The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. He is the immigration section chair for the National Bar Association, and serves on AILA’s Board of Directors. He received his B.A. from Morehouse University and a J.D. from Howard University School of Law.

Mary E. Pivec is a partner at Williams Mullen, LLC. She defends employers in administrative investigations, hearings, and appeals involving employment, whistleblower, and immigration matters. She is a past member of the AILA Board of Governors, has served multiple terms on the AILA employment verification and DOL liaison committees, and is currently on the AILA OCAHO Liaison Committee. Ms. Pivec is AV-rated and is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
